Optimizing Graphics For You: What We Will Need

If you wish to have GraphicsOptimization optimize graphics on your behalf, we will need you to provide us with a few items:

  1. Access to the files that you wish to have us optimize.
The safest thing to do (for both organizations) would be to either have you upload your imagery on to our FTP server for processing or to send us a copy of your imagery via CD-Rom or DVD. If you have a site where imagery is constantly being added, altered or removed (sites such as media outlets or online auction services, with content and imagery changing literally every day), it would be more efficient to grant us limited access to your folder(s) which house imagery on your web server. Doing so creates greater exposure to problems for BOTH organizations, however, so direct access and permissions to one's web server should only be used when absolutely necessary.

  2.
  3. Information on the level of optimization that you are desiring.
Optimization work can be performed at a variety of levels, from "batch processes" that apply the same technique to hundreds or thousands of images in a uniform and automated manner, to focusing a significant amount of time performing 6-8 custom, unique steps to achieve the very-best results on each individual image (non-batch processing). Batch processing achieves a moderate level of optimization at a fraction of the time/cost, while non-batch processing solutions achieve the very-best results.

  4.
  5. Desired Timelines.
Many small business (or organization) web sites with less than 250 images could be fully optimized within 24-48 hours of us being provided access to those files, depending upon the current level of demand for our services. Some web sites could even be optimized in a matter of 2-3 hours! However, larger organizations with thousands of images on their web sites will necessarily take a bit more time. If those organizations can provide us with desired delivery dates for their optimized imagery, it will help us to schedule all of our work in an appropriate manner.
