What We Do

GraphicsOptimization was formed with one primary goal in mind: to do our part to help the internet be a better place through decreasing the time it takes to load and display graphics in web pages without sacrificing image size or quality.

Fifty to ninety percent of all bandwidth consumed to display the vast majority of web sites on the planet is dedicated to the processing and display of graphics. Much of that bandwidth being consumed could be easily avoided through even the most-basic optimization efforts on the part of graphics designers and/or web developers...yet nearly fifteen years after graphics were first introduced into web sites, the vast majority of individuals still have not learned how to optimize graphics for web-based display. Either that, or individuals simply do not care...stating that "internet connections and processors are getting faster all the time, so it really doesn't matter."

It DOES matter to individuals who are still accessing the internet via dial-up or slower cable/DSL connections! It DOES matter to individuals and organizations who are paying additional costs as the amount of bandwidth consumed by their web sites continues to increase! It DOES matter in our overall efforts to reduce our consumption of electricity and extend the life of existing computer hardware...reducing the amount of hazardous waste being produced during the process of manufacturing new equipment!

The other pages on this web site are designed to help individuals learn how to optimize the graphics they are publishing to their web pages themselves, as well as offering our services to those individuals or organizations who would prefer to have someone help them with the task. We hope you find this site to be useful, and will be open to the message that we are trying to convey.
