In the News – October 16, 2007 Derek Tonn presented a 30-minute session on the benefits of graphics optimization to a group of web development professionals at the annual conference of the Higher Education Web Professionals Association in Rochester, New York. The session included an overview of how to select the optimal file formats for one's imagery and the tools that are available that enable the generation of the smallest file sizes possible. Approximately 10 minutes were also spent illustrating the various optimization techniques and resulting file sizes in front of them. The session was named "Best in Showcase" at that conference (one of ten favorite sessions out of 65 total sessions presented, as determined by conference attendees), and was subsequently offered a second time on the morning of October 17.
